Abir Ghattas

Abir Ghattas is the Chief Information Officer at Human Rights Watch, where she leads the organizations global technology strategy, digital resilience, and security. Educated in computer science, mathematics, and communication, she is also a board member at Access Now, blending her technical expertise with a deep commitment to human rights, particularly at their intersection with technology.

Described as a Lebanese activist and blogger, Abirs work is centered on human rights, feminism, and technology. She founded Hammam Radio, a feminist participatory online radio platform for women from the Arab world to share their stories, which quickly gained a large audience. She is a recognized expert in cybersecurity, privacy, and free speech.

In 2020, she co-launched Hammam Radio, an online feminist space for women from the Arab world, which attracted 60,000 listeners in its first three months.
