Adam Pawis

Adam Pawis is the Chief of Shawanaga First Nation, bringing extensive experience in Indigenous governance and community development. He previously served as Head Councillor and as an Economic Development Officer for Magnetawan First Nation. He is a staunch advocate for treaty rights, community wellness, and economic sovereignty for his people.

As an Anishinabek, he is deeply connected to the land and water, believing in the Creator-given trust to protect Mother Earth. He views his diverse career, including a decade in construction, as his education from the "University of Life. " He is passionate about improving health, education, and economic opportunities for his community.

One of his greatest aspirations is to help restore the Indigenous Economy and Trade system of Turtle Island.
