Albert Perez

Albert Perez serves as the City Manager for Mercedes, Texas, bringing extensive experience in public administration. His career includes a 30-year tenure with the Texas State Comptroller and four years as City Manager for Rio Grande City. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas - Pan American.

He is passionate about community building, believing that "people are the main ingredient" and that networking is paramount. He actively supports local economic growth through workforce development programs and small business certifications, showing a deep commitment to the Rio Grande Valley region.

Before his work in city management, he managed the Texas State Comptrollers statewide Enforcement Division, which operated in 34 different cities.
