Caroline Jean “Jeannie” Falstead is the Director of Indigenous Initiatives for the OEC Group, leveraging over 20 years of experience from the utility sector. A citizen of the Namgis First Nation, she focuses on building relationships and creating educational and employment opportunities for Indigenous communities. She studied Education and Political Science at The University of British Columbia.
After reaching "Freedom 55" and retiring, the pandemic altered her plans, leading her to accept her current opportunity to continue her impactful work. In her previous time off, she was happy to be married to her best friend.
Unique fact: She successfully managed BC Hydros Aboriginal Education and Employment Strategy, resulting in over 300 local Indigenous hires.
