Outside of his technology work, Chip has a demonstrated interest in local architecture and community development. In 2012, he co-purchased and retrofitted a historic Mid-Century Modern building, transforming it into a space for several local businesses, including his own.

He repurposed a 1960s art center into a modern business hub, preserving a piece of local history.
