Daniel Conway co-founded Great Lakes Brewing Co. with his brother Patrick in 1988, establishing Ohios first craft brewery. A John Carroll University graduate with a background in banking, he helped pioneer the craft beer movement in the region and revitalize Clevelands Ohio City neighborhood, growing the company into a nationally recognized brand.
He is deeply committed to sustainability and community stewardship, operating on a "triple bottom line" philosophy of people, planet, and profit. He supports clean water initiatives and local agriculture, co-founding Ohio City Farm. In 2023, he and his brother received the Changemaker Award for their environmental work.
His brewerys "Conways Irish Ale" is named in honor of his grandfather, a Cleveland policeman.
