Henrijette Richter

Henrijette Richter is a Managing Partner at Sofinnova Partners, where she specializes in early-stage biotech and medtech investments. A scientist by training, she holds a Ph. D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Copenhagen and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at MIT. Before Sofinnova, she was instrumental in founding and building the venture firm Novo Seeds.

Henrijette transitioned from academic research to venture capital after observing the high-stress environment at MIT was not for her. She advocates for finding a career that brings happiness and keeping options open. She is a mother and has spoken about the importance of maintaining her individual identity while balancing work and family life.

Early in her venture capital career, she faced a crisis of confidence, feeling she didnt understand the financial discussions, and almost returned to science before persevering.
