Henry Hu is the Cofounder and CEO of Cafe X, a company pioneering robotic coffee bars. As a Thiel Fellow, he dropped out of Babson College to address inefficiencies in the coffee industry, inspired by a long wait at an airport. He focuses on combining automation with high-quality, specialty coffee from esteemed roasters.
Originally from Hong Kong, Henry has a hands-on approach to his business, from prototyping the first robot to developing latte art for commercial customers. He is passionate about improving the customer experience and eliminating repetitive tasks through technology, allowing staff to focus on service rather than mechanical work.
He built the first prototype of the Cafe X robotic arm with two friends in a garage after receiving a $100,000 Thiel Fellowship.
