Houston Barnaby is a Mi’kmaw lawyer and the Founding Partner of Balsam Inc. , where he helps organizations build bridges for Reconciliation. A graduate of Dalhousie Universitys Schulich School of Law, he has extensive experience in governance matters and negotiating Impact Benefit Agreements, leveraging his expertise to foster partnerships between industry and Indigenous communities.
Originally from the Listuguj First Nation, Houston is deeply invested in community prosperity and serves as Co-Chair of the Millbrook First Nation Economic Development Corporation. He also dedicates his time to advancing education as a board member for the NSCC Foundation, demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting student success.
He is the co-chair for the Canadian Institute’s annual Conference on Indigenous Consultation & Engagement for the Atlantic region.
