Ilaria Manco
Login to view DISC.Ilaria Manco is a Research Scientist at Google DeepMind in San Francisco, specializing in AI for music co-creation. Her research focuses on multimodal deep learning to give machines a more human-like understanding of audio. She earned her PhD in AI & Music from Queen Mary University of London.
Outside of her research, Ilaria is deeply involved in electronic music as a DJ and producer. She hosts a radio show and co-runs two collectives, Co-Select and Sisu, which promote gender balance in the dance music scene. She also co-founded the Italian Music Tech Meetup.
She received a Best Paper Award at the prestigious 2024 International Society for Music Information Retrieval (ISMIR) conference for her work on multimodal audio-language models.
