Iyad Khateeb is a telecommunications expert with over 25 years of experience, culminating in his role as Syrias Minister of Communication and Technology from 2018 to 2024. A Communications Engineering graduate from Damascus University, he rose through the ranks at Syrian Telecom to spearhead national initiatives aimed at transforming the countrys digital landscape and rebuilding its infrastructure.
As minister, he was the public face of Syrias push for a digital future. His work focused on building a robust digital infrastructure for key sectors, launching new mobile services, and promoting e-government to enhance efficiency and transparency.
He recently announced plans to establish a "technological city" in Dimas, aiming to centralize and bolster Syrias software industry.
