Jane Ellen Barr is the Director of Wound Healing at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, holding a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). She is a certified Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (CWON), a published researcher, and an author who has contributed to medical textbooks.
Her work is deeply influenced by personal experience, having been inspired by her familys reaction to a past illness of her own. This led her to develop resources focused on supporting caregivers, reflecting her philosophy of caring for both the patient and their loved ones.
She won a clinical science research award for her work on the relationship between resilience and chronic sorrow in patients with an ostomy.
