Jim Steyer is the founder and CEO of Common Sense Media, a leading nonprofit focused on childrens welfare in the digital age. A Stanford Law and undergraduate alumnus, he is a recognized child advocate, civil rights attorney, and an award-winning adjunct professor at Stanford for over 30 years.
Outside of his professional advocacy, Jim is a dedicated educator and family man. He and his wife live in the Bay Area, where they have raised their four children. His passion for helping kids was greatly influenced by his mother, a remedial reading teacher.
Interesting fact: While a student at Stanford Law School, he co-founded the East Palo Alto Community Law Project, a nonprofit legal services center for low-income families.
