John Dang is an AI Researcher on the founding team at Adaption, focusing on building machine intelligence that learns efficiently and continually. A graduate of UCLA with both a BS and MS in Computer Science, his expertise covers LLM alignment and reinforcement learning, developed at Cohere Labs and UCLAs Machine Intelligence Group.
Outside of his primary research, John enjoys playing and writing music on vocals, guitar, and piano. He is also passionate about working out, trying new food, and was formerly the president of the largest student AI organization at UCLA, ACM AI.
He co-authored two papers on LLM alignment that were under review for the 2024 International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR).
