John F. McDermott

John F. McDermott is a Partner at Taylor, Porter, Brooks & Phillips, LLP, where he chairs the Tax and Estate Planning practice. An alumnus of Georgetown University (LL. M. ) and LSU Law (J. D. ), he is a Board Certified Tax Law Specialist and a certified public accountant with over 35 years of experience.

Beyond his legal practice, John is deeply involved in community service and philanthropy. He is the vice chair of the board for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Louisiana and serves on the professional advisory councils for both the Baton Rouge Area Foundation and the LSU Foundation Planned Giving program.

He has repeatedly been named "Lawyer of the Year" in Tax Law and Trusts and Estates for Baton Rouge by Best Lawyers in America.
