Jonathan Lundgren is an agroecologist and the Executive Director of the ECDYSIS Foundation and CEO of Blue Dasher Farm. After a distinguished 11-year career as a top scientist with the USDA, he left to establish his own research foundation and farm, focusing on developing sustainable food systems. He holds a PhD in Entomology from the University of Illinois.
Outside of his formal research, Jonathan is a hands-on farmer, rancher, and beekeeper. He is passionate about making science accessible and applicable for farmers, frequently interacting with the agricultural community to share insights on pest management, insect biology, and regenerative practices that improve biodiversity and reduce the need for agrochemicals.
He received the Presidential Early Career Award for Science and Engineering from President Barack Obama.
