Juho Hamari is the Professor of Gamification and Vice-dean of Research at Tampere University, where he leads the Gamification Group. His highly-cited, multidisciplinary research focuses on gamification, game-based learning, virtual economies, and extended realities. He earned his Ph. D. from Aalto University and is considered a pioneer in his field.
He has received numerous accolades, including the "Young Researcher of The Year" award from the Finnish Foundation for Technology Promotion and "Information Systems Scholar of The Year. " His work bridges human-computer interaction, information systems, and media studies.
