Laurie Lewis is the Owner and Co-Winemaker of Hip Chicks do Wine, recognized as Portlands oldest urban winery. Leveraging her science degree from Abilene Christian University, she co-founded the winery to make wine more fun and accessible. People she has worked with describe her as passionate and professional.
Outside of her winery, Laurie is a strong supporter of her local community, actively promoting other Oregon wineries, particularly those that are Queer-owned. She enjoys creating engaging experiences, frequently hosting events that pair wine with food like chocolate and appetizers, often accompanied by live music.
She and her business partner were inspired to start their winery to create a less intimidating and more welcoming atmosphere than they found in the traditional wine world.
