Melanie Lizotte, B.A.(Honors), M.Ed.

Melanie is the Manager of Indigenous Relations, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion at Robert B. Somerville. With a Master of Education from the University of Alberta, she specializes in trauma-responsive education and fostering community-industry relations. Her career is dedicated to advancing Indigenous engagement, equity, and procurement opportunities.

Melanies personal interests are deeply intertwined with Indigenous culture and community. She actively attends significant cultural events, including art exhibits by renowned Indigenous artists, and travels to national gatherings like the Assembly of First Nations Annual General Assembly to support community leaders.

Interesting fact: She received a grant to participate in a year-long language and cultural program in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China.
