Merran Smith
Login to view DISC.Merran Smith is the President of New Economy Canada and a Senior Fellow at Simon Fraser University, where she also founded and led Clean Energy Canada. She is a prominent voice in accelerating Canadas clean energy transition and shaping sustainable economic policy. Merran holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Victoria.
Outside of her primary roles, Merran has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to climate action, co-founding the B. C. chapter of The Climate Group. Her board affiliations and interests reflect a deep focus on environmental stewardship, shareholder advocacy for sustainability, and community engagement in British Columbia.
She was a recipient of Simon Fraser Universitys Presidents Social Media Newsmaker Award in 2022.
