Michelle Tarry

Michelle Tarry is the VP of Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability at American Eagle Outfitters, where she has led sustainability efforts for over a decade. Her role focuses on ensuring factory partners meet fair labor standards and advancing the companys environmental goals, including water and energy reduction. She holds an MS from New York University.

Personally invested in sustainability, Michelle involves her two children in making eco-conscious choices, such as reducing packaging by buying in bulk and driving an electric car. She has a background in Chinese Language studies, reflecting a long-standing interest in global cultures which complements her international career.

In June 2024, Michelle was elected to the Steering Committee of the International Accord, recognizing her leadership in promoting health and safety in the global garment industry.
