Miranda Nordell

Miranda Nordell is the owner of Dreamers & Make-Believers Books, an inclusive comic shop and bookstore in Baltimore. Her career uniquely blends a background in public health, including a role as a PrEP Coordinator in San Francisco, with deep experience in the comics industry, previously serving as a general manager for a major comic retailer.

Driven by a passion for accessible and diverse stories, Miranda founded her bookstore to champion works by and for BIPOC, women, and the LGBTQIAA+ community. Since 2017, she has also run "Femme Power Comix, " an account promoting feminist stories in pop culture. Her work focuses on building community through literature.

She was inspired to open her own bookstore during the pandemic after experiencing difficulty finding the inclusive, middle-grade graphic novels she was looking for in her area.
