Natalie Chanin is the founder and creative director of Alabama Chanin, a lifestyle brand renowned for its sustainable practices and responsible production. A pioneer in the "slow fashion" movement, she focuses on ethical, locally-made goods using organic materials. She holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from North Carolina State University.
After working abroad as a stylist and costume designer, Natalie returned to her hometown of Florence, Alabama, to launch her company. Deeply connected to her Southern roots, she is passionate about preserving traditional hand-sewing skills and reviving her communitys textile industry through her work and her non-profit, Project Threadways.
Interesting fact: The 2014 Grammy-winning song "A Feathers Not a Bird" by Rosanne Cash was written about Natalie and her work at Alabama Chanin.
