Dr. Nathan Skelley is the Vice-Chair of Orthopaedic Surgery at Sanford-USD Medical Center, specializing in sports medicine. He is also an Associate Professor at the University of South Dakota and serves as the Medical Director for the USD Coyotes athletic department. He earned his M. D. from Johns Hopkins University.
Originally from Missouri, Dr. Skelley grew up in a medical family and earned a black belt in martial arts, which sparked his interest in the musculoskeletal system. During a fellowship in Boston, he took on the challenge of learning to sail, a hobby he still enjoys on Midwestern lakes.
He has a significant interest in emerging technologies and has researched 3D printing applications to improve orthopaedic care, particularly in rural areas.
