R. Donald Maracle

A dedicated leader, R. Donald Maracle has served as Chief of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte for over three decades, following 12 years as a Councillor. His tenure is marked by a focus on community revitalization through major infrastructure projects, economic development, settling land claims, and improving health and education services.

His work is deeply intertwined with his personal passion for the well-being and prosperity of his people. Described as a dedicated, passionate, and respectful leader, he is a tireless advocate for Indigenous rights, cultural preservation, and creating a better future for the members of his community, both on and off the territory.

With over 40 years on council, he is the longest-serving consecutive leader in the recorded history of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte.
