Rachel is the K-12 Education Coordinator for the State Historical Society of Iowa, designing learning experiences that connect students with their communities. A National Geographic Explorer, she creates storytelling projects using audio and mapmaking. She holds a Masters in Geography and was recognized with the AP Human Geography Distinguished Teaching Award.
Rachel comes from a family of educators and is passionate about learning alongside her students to foster lifelong curiosity. She once assisted a high school girls soccer program, developing a passion for the sport and demonstrating a quick grasp of new concepts and an ability to inspire others.
