Dr. Krajmalnik-Brown directs the Biodesign Center for Health Through Microbiomes at ASU. Leveraging her Environmental Engineering PhD from Georgia Tech, she pioneers research on the gut microbiomes link to metabolism and autism. Her work bridges engineering and medicine to develop novel diagnostics and therapies, and she holds numerous patents.
Originally from Mexico City, she came to the U.S. on a Fulbright Scholarship. Her passion for science began early, with a middle school science fair project creating handmade shampoo, and she has always been driven by a desire to help people. She enjoys creating a positive work environment for her team.
She co-founded Gut-Brain-Axis Therapeutics Inc., a startup that has raised over $6 million to support research and development of microbiome-based autism treatments.
