Ruben Ruiz-Mateos Serrano

Ruben is the Founder and CEO of Polytecks, a Cambridge-based bioelectronics startup developing non-invasive bioelectrical mapping technologies. He completed his PhD in Bioelectronics at the University of Cambridge, where his research on wearable cardiac mapping systems formed the foundation for his company. He previously co-founded Qtrace, applying machine learning to food supply chain quality.

Ruben is deeply immersed in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, actively participating in and winning pitch competitions. He is passionate about translating complex scientific research from the lab into real-world applications and frequently presents his work at academic and industry events, including a presentation at the UK House of Lords.

His company, Polytecks, is developing its smart textile technology for enhanced diagnostics in both human and veterinary healthcare, targeting cardiac conditions and beyond.
