Sam Charmand
Login to view DISC.Sam is the Global Chief Digital and Information Officer at BlueScope, where he also leads the companys innovation and venture arm, BlueScopeX. A graduate of UNSWs Master of Business & Technology program, he previously spent over two decades at Qantas, rising from an IT graduate to become the Groups Chief Information Officer.
Outside of his corporate roles, Sam is deeply involved in the Australian basketball community. He serves as a Non-Executive Director for Basketball Australia, where he chairs the Digital Committee, and also dedicates his time to coaching an under-18 mens basketball team for the Bankstown Bruins.
During his tenure at Qantas, Sam was a pioneer behind key passenger innovations, including the development of RFID baggage tags, for which he holds a patent.
