Sha Stepter is the founder of Slow And Steady Media, a production company focused on content that highlights system-impacted people. A filmmaker from San Francisco, he explores the relationship between mass media, the U. S. prison system, and Black culture. He is a graduate of San Francisco State University and a recurring guest lecturer at Stanford.
His personal journey is deeply connected to his professional mission, having dedicated himself to education and restorative justice. He co-chaired the groundbreaking TEDx San Quentin and became chairman of the first Society of Professional Journalists inside a prison. He also volunteers as a youth mentor and serves on the Board of Trustees for Mount Tamalpais College.
He is the recipient of a 2024 Berkeley Film Foundation Grant and a 2024 NATAS SF/NorCal Scholarship.
