Shantell Martin is a visual artist and philosopher known for her large-scale, black-and-white drawings and collaborations with brands like Tiffany & Co. , Nike, and Puma. Educated at Central Saint Martins, her work explores themes of identity and intersectionality, and she has held academic positions at MIT Media Lab, NYU, and Columbia University.
Outside of her studio, Shantell is a cultural facilitator who travels for inspiration and enjoys sharing her personal journey. She hosts a podcast, has given a TED Talk on creativity, and offers drawing and meditation workshops to help others connect with their own inner voice and find mindfulness through art.
She was a pioneering visual jockey (VJ) in Tokyo, where she developed her signature style by creating live drawings projected in nightclubs.
