James "Skip" Jenkins is a retired Plant Services Manager from CMC Steel, where he worked for 46 years, rising from greasing equipment to management. A lifelong resident of Cayce, South Carolina, he is also a long-serving City Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem, demonstrating a deep commitment to his local community.
He is heavily involved in community development, particularly focusing on creating academic opportunities and after-school programs for children. Jenkins has a passion for trade skills, being a self-taught welder, and advocates for more trade certification programs for students. He is a father of four and a grandfather of five.
His dedication to public safety led to his appointment to the National League of Cities 2014 Public Safety & Crime Prevention Steering Committee.
