Suzanne Lea is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health at East Carolina Universitys Brody School of Medicine. With a PhD from UC Berkeley, her expertise is in epidemiology, focusing on cancer prevention, health disparities, and the health impacts of environmental factors. She has over 25 years of experience in public health practice and research.
An alumna of Rhodes College, Suzanne was a member of the varsity Cross-Country Team and the Delta Delta Delta sorority. These experiences suggest a foundation in discipline, teamwork, and community engagement from her undergraduate years, balancing athletics with academics and social involvement.
She has managed the field epidemiology components for outbreak investigations of Anthrax, Influenza, and SARS.
