Her professional life is deeply dedicated to her personal passion for community advocacy. She focuses on unlocking the strengths of African Nova Scotian communities, drawing out the skills and contributions of women, and providing hands-on training experiences through an Africentric lens.
In recognition of her work, she was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Mount Saint Vincent University in 2023.
