Dr. Tasha Brooks is an Indigenous Business Scholar and Assistant Professor at Royal Roads University. As an elected Councillor for Cowichan Tribes, she focuses on Indigenous economic development, entrepreneurship, and education. She holds a Doctor of Business Administration and serves on multiple governance committees for her Nation.
Outside of her academic and political roles, Tasha is a mother who balanced family life while completing her doctoral program. She is also actively working towards proficiency in the Hulquminum language, reflecting a deep commitment to her cultural heritage and its revitalization.
Her doctoral research on barriers for Indigenous entrepreneurs was inspired by her own unsuccessful attempts to access funding for her consulting business.
