Terry Gilbert is a nationally recognized civil rights and criminal defense attorney and a partner at Friedman, Gilbert + Gerhardstein in Cleveland, Ohio. With a career spanning over 50 years, he specializes in cases of police misconduct and wrongful imprisonment. He is a graduate of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, where a wrongful conviction clinic is named after him.
His passion for justice was ignited by the anti-war movement during his college years. He authored a memoir, "TRYING TIMES, " detailing his career fighting for the marginalized. With his wife, he shares a love for different cultures, history, and travel, and he is active with organizations like the ACLU and the National Lawyers Guild.
