Timothy St. J. Ellam KC, FCIArb

Timothy St. J. Ellam is a Partner at McCarthy Tétrault in Calgary and London, co-chairing the firms International Arbitration group. He specializes in energy and intellectual property disputes, holding a Kings Counsel designation. People who have worked with him describe him as reliable, practical, hugely experienced, measured, and approachable, with unique international IP expertise.

Beyond his legal practice, Tim is the President of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU). He is passionate about amateur radios role in emergency communications, its applications in STEM education for younger generations, and protecting the radio spectrum for amateur use globally. He owns his own equipment, including alternate power supplies.

He was the first lawyer in Canada to be awarded the distinction of IBA Fellow in International Legal Practice.
