Tom Christensen

Tom Christensen is the retired Senior Vice President of Transmission, Engineering, and Construction at Basin Electric Power Cooperative, where he spent nearly 40 years. An alumnus of North Dakota State University (BSEE) and the University of North Dakota (MBA), he was instrumental in major strategic initiatives, including the companys integration into the Southwest Power Pool.

While his public profile centers on his extensive career in the energy sector, his long-standing roots in North Dakota suggest a connection to the local community and the universities he attended. He has spent the majority of his life and career based in Bismarck.

He is known for his memorable statement: “The Laws of Physics are immutable, non-negotiable, and not subject to the rules of man, and the Laws of Physics will prevail every time. ”
