Aaron C. Gonzalez Nelson PhD

Aaron is the Senior Director of Drug Development at Akebia Therapeutics, leading his group to advance products from pre-clinical stages through to validation. He has deep expertise in solid oral dosage forms and Quality by Design (QbD) oriented processes, supported by a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Colorado State University.

Outside of his direct professional responsibilities, Aaron is driven by a mission to improve the lives of those with chronic kidney disease. He is focused on building an enthusiastic team and mentoring junior scientists to fight for this cause. He is also a published researcher on prion proteins from his academic work.
