Al Bassiri

Al Bassiri is the co-founder and Director of Talent Strategy at Hammehr Talent Consultants, a tech recruiting firm. With over a decade of experience, he specializes in using evidence-based, scientific methods to help companies improve their hiring practices, reduce bias, and find the right talent.

Al is actively involved in his community as a board member for the Alberta 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce. Outside of work, he and his wife, Julia, are known in their circle for hosting elaborate and fun murder mystery parties in Calgary.

He is on a mission to transform the recruitment process from being based on "gut feelings" to data-driven strategies that ensure better hiring outcomes.
