Alex Hempton, PMP, AICP
Commander · DISC type DAlex Hempton is the Chief Innovation Officer and Director of the Performance & Analytics Department for the City of San Diego. He focuses on people-centered innovation, utilizing data and technology to enhance city services for residents and improve tools for employees. He notably launched and scaled the Citys award-winning "Get It Done" platform.
Outside of his primary role, Alex is deeply involved in urban planning, having served in leadership roles, including Treasurer, for the San Diego section of the American Planning Association. A UC San Diego alumnus, he is committed to community betterment and professional development within the planning community. He also enjoys cycling to work.
He previously worked with Apple Computer as an independent publisher and was once named Innovator of the Year by the Citys Development Services Department.
