Chungheon Shin serves as the Research Director at Stanford Universitys Codiga Resource Recovery Center. His work focuses on creating sustainable engineering solutions to recover valuable resources like clean water and energy from waste streams, aiming to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. He earned his Ph. D. in Environmental Engineering from Inha University.
He developed the Staged Anaerobic Fluidized-bed Membrane Bioreactor (SAF-MBR), an innovative process for recovering clean water and energy from municipal wastewater.
