David Harrison is a Professor Emeritus at The Jackson Laboratory, where his research focuses on the genetics of aging, gerontology, and adult stem cells. He holds a BS in Chemistry from Bates College and a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from Stanford University. His work aims to understand and retard aging processes to prolong health in humans.
His research team was the first to document that the drug rapamycin could extend the lifespan in mammals, a landmark finding in aging research.
