Dima Damen is a Professor of Computer Vision at the University of Bristol and a Senior Research Scientist at Google DeepMind. Her research focuses on understanding human actions and object interactions from a first-person viewpoint, a field known as Egocentric Vision. She holds a PhD from the University of Leeds.
Passionate about advancing her field, Dima frequently delivers keynote addresses and tutorials at major international conferences. She is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of researchers, supervising numerous PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, and actively organizes workshops to foster academic collaboration and innovation.
She is a co-creator of EPIC-KITCHENS, a seminal and one of the largest datasets in egocentric vision, which has become a key benchmark for the global research community.
