Dr Leanne Atkin

Dr. Leanne Atkin is a clinical academic holding a dual appointment as an Associate Professor at the University of Huddersfield and a Vascular Nurse Consultant at Mid Yorkshire NHS Teaching Trust. She earned her PhD with a research focus on peripheral arterial disease and has authored over 120 publications on vascular diseases and wound care.

Outside of her direct clinical and academic work, Dr. Atkin is a passionate advocate for improving patient outcomes and public awareness for lower limb conditions. She is the chair of the "Legs Matter" campaign, which demonstrates her commitment to broader healthcare initiatives and community education.

In an interview, she shared that her greatest personal achievement is raising her two sons, mostly as a single mother, while concurrently completing her Masters degree and PhD.
