Dylan Rietze is an Indigenous Life Sciences student at Queens University, focusing on genetics and radiobiology. He conducts bladder cancer research at the Sinclair Cancer Research Institute and is the founder of two ventures, including the Northern Ontario Business Development Network, aiming to bridge biomedical research with Indigenous knowledge systems and support regional entrepreneurs.
Outside of his rigorous academic and research schedule, Dylan is deeply committed to Indigenous advocacy and community building. He actively works to integrate Indigenous knowledge into scientific fields and supports early-stage operators across various sectors through a private advisory network he founded, emphasizing equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigeneity.
He is the sole undergraduate member appointed to the Indigenous Advisory Council for the Connected Minds CFREF initiative, where he helps review over $1. 5 million in research funding.
