Irfan is a Scientist at Prolific Machines on the Cell Line Development team. His PhD from the University of Vermont focused on tissue engineering scaffolds for cultivated meat, specifically using sustainable, plant-based polymers. He previously co-founded The Vermont Alternative Protein Project and was a New Harvest Research Fellow.
Driven by ethical considerations that led him to become a vegan, Irfan is passionate about the future of food. He dedicates time to mentoring students, enjoys finding new ways to stay fit, and likes trying new recipes. He was a foreign exchange student in Minnesota and is originally from Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
His career in cellular agriculture was inspired by his own philosophical convictions against eating animals.
