Dr. James E. Taylor serves as the Chief Diversity, Inclusion, and Talent Management Officer at UPMC. He is an executive strategist with a Ph. D. in Organizational Psychology and extensive experience leading diversity initiatives at major healthcare systems like Kaiser Permanente and Carolinas HealthCare System.
Outside of his executive role, James is deeply committed to philanthropy and community service. He actively holds multiple board appointments with organizations such as the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE), the August Wilson African American Cultural Center, and the Gardner-Webb University Board of Trustees.
He has been recognized by the National Diversity Council as one of the "Top 100 Chief Diversity Officers" in the nation.
