Jean-François Martel is the Director of the Energy Division at Groupe Savoie and the newly elected Mayor of Saint-Quentin, New Brunswick. A graduate of the Université de Moncton with a Bachelor of Business Administration, he balances his corporate responsibilities in renewable energy with his civic duties, focusing on strategic community growth.
He has a long-standing interest in politics and community activism, which prompted his successful run for municipal council in 2021 and eventually mayor in 2026. In a unique family political story, his father, Alain Martel, was elected as a town councillor in the same election he became the youngest mayor in Saint-Quentins history.
He was recognized by Canadian Forest Industries magazine as one of the "Top 20 under 40" leaders in Canadian forestry.
