Kakwiranoron Cook is an Indigenous Affairs Officer at the Commission for Environmental Cooperation. A graduate of the McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA program, he has extensive experience driving Indigenous initiatives and fostering reconciliation in corporate, academic, and environmental sectors, including roles at Sobeys and McGill University. He is a proud member of the Akwesasne Kanienkehà: ka and Oglala Lakota nations.
He is deeply committed to the self-determination of Indigenous Peoples, the vitality of Indigenous languages, and advancing reconciliation. Growing up in South Dakota and with family ties in Kahnawake, he has dedicated his career to building sustainable partnerships and strengthening community relationships. He is a father to two young sons.
Unique fact: He was the researcher, writer, and director for a documentary about the St. Lawrence Seaway for the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake.
